Vacation is going to be busy with work. Just with work around the house instead of work at work. I hope I can get to even a marginal amount of the tasks I’m trying to get accomplished. The main issue with the house is I don’t get around to cleaning, and I’ve finally decided to just give that up as a lost cause. It’s just not gonna happen. Before I can get everything cleaned, some of the first ones badly need cleaned again, and since they’re the most inconvenient ones, they’re the only ones I get to. I just can’t seem to get caught up with all the other stuff going on around the house. And it’s not helping that work is wearing me out so I don’t have any energy left to mess with cleaning.
So my plan for next week is to de-clutter the house. I need to get all the crap cleaned up and out of the way so I can bring in a housekeeper to make sure the house gets cleaned and stays cleaned. My mom even mentioned that she’d hire someone to come in and do a full house clean for my Christmas present. Let me tell you, that’s a terribly attractive offer. Especially cause Dave could possibly put me in touch with a housekeeper (and yes, Dave, I’ll probably be asking again soon), but right now I’m a little nervous about having that person, if she’s available, come give me an estimate of how much it’ll cost and how often she should come to clean when this house is way dirtier than it would ever get should it actually receive regular cleaning.
So, next week is going to be quite busy with going through each room, finding a home for all the junk or just getting rid of it. When Mr. B isn’t working and can help, we also need to get the yard cleaned up. This involves getting all the leaves picked up, trimming back the hedges, trying to rescue the backyard flowerbed from the neighbor’s overgrowth, etc.
I just hope I don’t work myself into immobility since I’m not used to that much physical activity.
